Forbo Flooring introduces Flotex collection

Since the integration of Flotex flocked flooring into the Forbo Flooring product portfolio, the regular collection was presented. As of February 1st, 2010 Forbo
Flooring will introduce the world wide Flotex collection which contains both the
Flotex Classic and the digitally printed Flotex HD ranges. The introduction also
includes three new designs and new colourways in existing designs.

Over 21 designs of which 13 are sold from stock will find their way to the customer. A new sample book which combines both Flotex Classic and Flotex HD must help to make a choice in this wide range of products. The Flotex Classic designs are characterised by their subtle nuances in colour and by the design grid that deliver a perfect tranquil all-over look. Flotex HD represents the unique High Definition digital print collection that creates superior textures with almost 3D-like appearance. Flotex HD, through its technology allows for large endless pattern repeats and vivid life like colours.

Flotex
Flotex is not a carpet, but it looks like one however it is also not a resilient, but behaves like one. Flotex floor covering in many ways makes unusual combinations that are normally found to be specific to just one particular kind of floor covering. Yet Flotex qualities also can be judged on its own.

Performance for life
Flotex is made up from a solid vinyl re-enforced base, with a densely flocked surface of nylon 6.6 fibres that are anchored firmly into the base layer. Flotex is extremely dimensionally stable. The solid vinyl base, re-enforced with glass fleece, is impermeable to water and offers the anchor for straight nylon fibres, over 70 million per square metre, making it the densest textile product available. The dense flocked surface provides an ideal acoustic barrier for both ambient and contact sound up to over 20dB, providing comfort and ambiance inside the room as well as to those rooms located below.

Creating a healthier environment
The anti microbial Sanitized® treatment of the Flotex base ensures consistent
protection against bacteria or moulds. It is compounded into the backing of Flotex, continually refreshing the anti-microbial performance without degrading through cleaning or vacuuming. It also suppresses the growth of dust mite populations. Independent test show that a dust mite population introduced to Flotex is reduced by an average of 86% over an eight week period. Therefore Flotex also has a positive impact on the lives of allergy sufferers even more as daily vacuuming cleans away twice as many allergens compared to conventional carpets due to Flotex’ unique fibre construction that releases dirt in a single cleaning exercise. This makes that Flotex and Marmoleum are the only floor coverings approved and holding the seal of the British Allergy Foundation.

Segments and application areas
Because of the product functionality and design, Flotex can be used in all thinkable locations where ambiance and durability are needed. Flotex is often found in Education, Healthcare, Office, Retail and Hospitality.
